August TBR 2015

Hola! How’re you today?

I thought I’d my TBR for August with you. I read 15 books in July, so hopefully I can keep up with that. I currently have 98 physical books on my TBR shelf, which I hope to knock down to 90 by September.

I’m planning to take part in the BookTubeAThon from the 3rd to the 9th, and you can check out my TBR if you’d like, as I wont mention those in this one.

The Great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald

Can you believe I’ve never read this? I’m super excited for this one.

Eclipse – Stephanie Meyer

The third book in the Twilight series. I think its about time I finished this series, and I plan/hope to marathon the last two books and novella soon.

Saving Jackie K – L.D.C. Fitzgerald

I adored 11.22.63 by Stephen King because I really enjoy reading about JFK, and this is all about Jackie Kennedy. So I’m excited for this.

The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden – Jessica Sorensen

I need to throw a New Adult in the mix every now and then and I’ve heard a lot of good things about this one.

Warm Bodies – Isaac Marion

A short book about zombies and I’ve still not seen the film!

I hope to get through all of these, as well as the books in my BookTubeAThon TBR. I doubt I will do it, but one can dream!

What do plan on reading this month?

Books I Want As TV Shows

Happy Monday! Hope everyone has had a wonderful day!

Today I thought I would talk about two of my favourite things… TV shows, and books! Yay! So I decided to pick out some books that I would like to see at TV shows. I love TV and I love to marathon lots of episode one after the other, after the other. (Netflix is life yo).

I prefer books being turned into TV shows than films for a number of reasons.

  • First of all, they last longer, and we all like that!
  • Films are never adapted very well (in my opinion), and with a TV show they can mess around with it and add things to it.
  • Pretty much all of my favourite TV shows are based on books.

So here are a few books I think would make AMAZING TV shows. Drum roll please…

Ready Player One – Ernest Cline

I know this one is already is talks to be a film, but so much happens that I think it would make a much better TV show! There’s so much in this books that I don’t really think you can cut any of it out to make shorter for a film. Think of all the cheesy 80s style scenes they can do! Ooh or flash blacks to the 80s! Yes! Make this a TV show please.

The Lunar Chronicles Series – Marissa Meyer

These would work so well as a TV series, don’t you think? So many different adventures happen in this series and there are so many characters, I’d hate to think that some characters were cut out of a film series. And come on… wouldn’t Hook from Once Upon A Time make a great Carswell Throne? (Yes).

The Morganville Vampire Series – Rachel Caine

This is my favourite vampire series and I have read these books since the very first one came out! They’re like my babies and I would be so, so, so happy if they were turned into a TV show.Again there are so many characters in this series and so much that happens that it would work better as a TV show. It would rival the Vampire Diaries (also so good) but they have two completely different story lines. Also, there are some rather swoonworthy guys in this series and I want to see them come alive.

11.22.63 – Stephen King

Please oh please can this be a TV show?! Time travel, murder, mystery, friendship and love. Need I say more? This would make a great TV show because it’s sooooo long! Like seriously this book spans many MANY years and is just so wonderful! You can tell that King spent a lot of time and effort researching events surrounding the assassination on JFK and I’d for all of his research to just get brushed under the carpet and made into a bog standard film. This needs to be a TV show.

Valley of The Dolls – Jacqueline Susann

Now I know that there is already a film based on this book… but lets be real, it’s awful, and there have been a series and a mini series too. I think this would be much better as a TV show now though. Set in 1960s Hollywood, following the lives of different woman “on the scene”, this is just what we need on our TVs at the moment! We have nothing like this to watch and I personally would love to see this as a TV show!

Anyway! That is all for today! Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Let me know what you think of my list and what books do you think would make a good TV show?
